A Great Day is When

A great day is when: You live it  consciously and fully present! You share the day with someone you enjoy and love. You don't think for a moment about anything dark or stressful all day long. You are in touch with every fiber of who you are as a spiritual person having a human experience without judgement. Today was one of those days when what could of gone wrong did.  I woke up in pain, I was emotionally confused, I was a little angry and even a little stressed.  I was also physically having a reaction one does not speak of at the dinner table.  I had to go to the restroom and so I thought about cancelling my luncheon with a friend by calling or texting him and then going right back to bed.  In fact I reset my phone alarm from 9am to 10am knowing that I just had to have one more hour in bed and one more hour of rest.  In a work I was a "mess" and feeling really sorry for myself.  Finally after a long battle with myself I made the decision to get...

When Someone Intends to Harm You

I have taken several angles on this notion of people who intend to harm us.  I remind everyone again of the quote: "You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good".  I also would like to share that there will be people who want to harm you and do so for many reasons: self-loathing, jealousy, racism, hatred, resentments, revenge and much more.  The fact is that there are going to be haters as the song by Taylor Swift says.  "The haters are going to hate, hate, hate, hate and the players are going to play, play, play, play, shake it off".  As I sit here this night listening to Beyonce sing "Precious Lord" I can feel the power of letting the things others do to us roll off of us.  With that kind of faith in God we can do just that.  We can let go of the hatred and the jealousy that is intended to hurt us because we know God's intention for us, a precious journey. Then John Legend sings a song for God and spirit and again it is proof to us who...

The Bad Times Are Our Teacher 2

It is the difficult stuff that teaches us the biggest and deepest lessons in life.  The betrayals, the abuse, the abandonment, the physical abuse, the bullying and the profanity towards us.  It is the tough things in life that transform us and help us to change.  Life is full of things that we cannot control like waiting in line at the grocery store or having to wait for the turn arrow to make a left turn in our car.  When we fight the reality that life can be dark and we have some bad times in life, we are fighting against the reality of what is.  Acceptance is key and when we accept the outcome that we cannot change we take our peace of mind back.  Not accepting what is simply makes it harder to live. Life is about suffering.  If you don't transform from your dark experiences  you will continue to suffer even more.  You will continue just to float through life rather than actually living life in its fullness.  In life there is this s...

Listen to Your Intuition

A long time ago I read a book by Sonia Choquette whom I am a big fan of based in part on intuition.  In the book she states that we all are psychic and that we all have intuition.  Since that time I have looked back at some of the thoughts I have had and things I have seen that come to fruition and understand that I am intuitive just as she said.  I have intuitive powers and so does everyone else.  The difference is believing and accessing that intuition or psychic ability.  Things will come to us naturally when we begin to want an answer or a need to figure out the outcome to something in our life.  We receive our intuition when we ask for it.  It is a feeling of knowing that we are being guided towards and we can feel it in our core.  We all have it. Your intuition tells you what is going to happen if you do A or B.  If you stay with a person in relationship or it will tell you not to be in that relationship.  Your intuition will gui...

Love and in Love

After two marriages and a few other relationships I consider myself tuned into the difference between loving someone and being "in love".  For many years I did not think there was a difference and often made fun when others made the distinction.  Now at the young age of 60 I have deduced that there is a very thick line between loving someone and being in love with someone.  In one of my relationships I was in love and in the other I loved the person but was never in love.  Part of the reason for me was that I never felt like the other person was in love with me.  It really does take two to tango.  There in lies the fact that I spent many years with a person who not only was I not in love with, I felt like I literally loathed.  Of course for good reason when I myself did not feel truly loved in a way that was beautiful and clear. We can love almost anyone.  It is the reason that we tolerate some much of what we don't want from someone for so long...

Accessing Your Deeper Self

When people ask me what is our spirit I say that it is the "deepest part of us, the deepest part of who we are".  When I talk about spirituality I refer to the part of us that is most sacred and our heart center.  I believe that our spirit is located in our heart.  Our heart is the most sensitive and loving place inside of us, hence it makes sense that our spirit is in our heart.  Some of us believe we don't have a spirit and I have to disagree.  I think that each of us has a spirit and that the difference is that some have not acknowledged it or accessed it.  It is there whether we believe it or not.  Accessing our spirit is work and it is intentional work.  Our spirit comes forth through our intention for it to come forth.  There are many ways to access the our spirit, the deepest part of our being.  Here are some: Invite Your Child Out to Play:  One sure way of accessing your spirit is to access your inner child and invite ...

My Spiritual Path 2

Radiation : The last radiation was completed and the nurse asked me if I would like to take a picture ringing the gong as was a tradition.  No one could have prepared me for the pain and burning and some bleeding in the next two to three weeks.  The Post radiation treatment was the worse part of it.  I was floored by the pain.  I was on my knees crying and some of it was witnessed by my daughter Camille.  I was not given enough information about what was going to happen, even though I was asked if I had questions.  I frankly did not know, not a clue of what to ask or expect.  My pain level was such that I even wrote some texts to a person that were strange to put it nicely.  The drugs were the culprit to my expressing some inner anger I'd never thought I had inside of me.  The entire experience was one I would not wish on my worse enemy those few weeks.  As I came to my knees my youngest daughter witnessed me.  She is a woman of Go...
