Your A Covert Racist?

I fear racists people more today than ever.  These folks are either very overt about it like Donald Trump while others are more covert.  I always say that the gay people came out o the closet and the racist got into the closet.  It's a rather strange thing to happen because even those ignorant people in the closet are more dangerous than the ones who are openly racist.  It is inside the privacy of their own homes that they are plotting to overturn every meaningful law that was instituted to provide equality to people who are either of color or disagree with the masses of bigots.  

Many people believe that racism is a thing of the past.  In reality it is well, alive and thriving today more than ever.  We were given that jolt of reality when to our dismay a person like Trump was voted president and although I won't advocate for hating back it is surely a testament to the fact that there are many whites who deem themselves the superior race, some of which openly held celebrations to further that myth.  A myth that to them is so real as to make all the rest of us just a bit concerned.  

We are now hearing reports of bullies in schools who are targeting other children based on race.  It seems that to some degree these lost children believe that it is OK to act out their white superiority complex.  Hence the schools are looking for ways to heal children of this newfound racism that has been ignited by Trump who thinks that he can build a wall to keep humans from looking for refuge in the US.  The irony of all of this fails these children as it does many adults.  We are all immigrants and some of us stole this land from Indians, justifying this massive hate.  

So when is this going to all come to a head?  Well we are beginning to see how today when at protests against the current president are growing like weeds and for some eliciting violence.  It may be calm now but if and when the rubber meets the road my fear is that there will be massive violence and that people will become so angry as to do unheard of things.  I hope not yet yet the fear is real for me and possibly for other people of color.  When is the wall concept going to become a way of life in our country and how will we be able to coexist in a country that is attempting to alienate people of color and the disenfranchised?  I fear we will become a country filled with bigotry and that the fight will be a bad one for everyone concerned.  Still I pray not.  

Walls that keep human beings in need our of refuge in our country is not the answer and can only feed racism and bigotry.  Walls that divide us can only instill fear and hate.  Walls that say that one group is not welcome while others are is simply put, ignorant and shameful.  IF we are to become a better world this mind set must be put to an end now and for good.  It is racist, it is prejudice, it is bigoted, it is discriminatory and it is just wrong on many levels: spiritually, emotionally and physically.  We can not claim to be an advanced country and facilitate hate all at one time.
