What Does Your Heart Say?
"Believe that what your heart does not speak is not for you or others to hear."
Coach Elliott
This quote came to me today for someone I am coaching. Whenever something comes up like this and I am compelled to share it I do exactly that, knowing that my intuition rarely fails me and that they may very well need to hear this message in this moment. Often times we get intuitive messages that we ignore and unfortunately for some ignoring it comes at a high cost. Today my intuition is asking me to share on a subject that is near to me and of which I needed to be reminded. The question I am asking myself all day is: What does my heart say? When I listen to my heart it rarely fails me and of course when I allow the ego to guide my decisions I often find myself feeling defeated, mostly because it is the heart that leads us to the path of less frustration and the path of light.
Every decision we make is an opportunity to check in with our hearts. Every time something seems to be getting in the way of our destined path it is our heart center that needs to be checked with and brought forth versus our ego mind. When we make decisions based on love, compassion and kindness we are making a decision that is heart felt and that comes from a place of knowing that any other way of approaching situations is really just a waste of our energy and a battle with our ego self. Even small seemingly insignificant decisions that access the heart first can have a great effect on the outcome for us and for others.
We must ask ourselves where we are coming from. Are we coming from the heart or are we coming from a place of anger and revenge? Are we coming from a loving place or are we coming from that ego spot where we learned that someone has to win and someone has to lose? Being in awareness is truly the best way to access your heart place so that you can make good decisions and ones that honor you and others around you. Winning may seem like a lot of fun but in reality winning has little to do with loving yourself or others. In reality winning has much to do with unhealthy feelings like jealousy, anger and resentment.
At the bottom of every line there is a chance for all of us to base our decisions on what we are feeling in our hearts. We have a choice and although we know that love is the better choice we often go into a fog because of jealousy, anger and even hate. We let the ego judge others and ourselves and we forget that only love can heal us, only love can inspire us to become more and only our heart can lead us to that place where we need to be in order to grow.
Getting back to our heart means that we check in with our spirit, the core of who we are. Getting back to your heart takes intention and a desire to live a life based on love, kindness, compassion and understanding. Not just for ourselves but for everyone we come into contact with. It is tempting to justify coming from anger especially when we believe someone has wronged us but when we come from that angry place we won't ever see the light that will help us to make good decisions about our life.
What does your heart say? Ask yourself that question every time you feel you are in peril. By asking this question you are sending yourself the message that only your heart can respond in a way that is truthful and sacred. When we ask ourselves to go to our heart for answers we give that heart power and dominion over what we will do or not do. Whether it is resentments, past pain or abuse, separation or death our heart will respond with the love we need to heal.
