On Being Ageless and Flawless
I say that age is really just a number. When you compare men who are sixty to me most of them are no where near where I am in life and in how I present myself. It is not that I want to brag but let's all be honest, most men are looking a bit raggedy at my age. Why is that you may ask? Well let me share this with you about me:
I refuse to be old, be identified as old or feel like I am too old:
Do not ever refer to yourself as old or use the word old in reference to yourself. Stay in the mind set that you will never be too old to be cool, happy, active, funny, witty and look good all the time. Just tell yourself that you are as old as you act and believe and you will stay in the fun zone. When someone uses the word old, change that to the word "seasoned" and if anyone dares say you are old, just throw your head back and laugh loudly.
I keep dancing:
Dancing is the most fun one can have and a great way to remain active and moving about. I keep dancing because I love salsa and the music just makes me super happy. Dancing has truly transformed people's lives and is something one can do until the end of time. There is no limit, no body type, no amount or kind of beauty that is required to dance. Dancing moves your energy around and releases stress like any other kind of exercise and it is good for the soul. I say keep dancing and keep smiling as you dance your way to an active life. When you dance you look and feel great.
I dress it up:
Put on your Sunday best whenever you like. Dress it up from head to toe. When you look good you feel good and when you feel good you look good. Wear what you think is fun and expresses who you are. Don't be afraid to express the inner self with the outer shell and show everyone that age has nothing to do with looking sharp and feeling fabulous all the time and every time. When in doubt wear a crisp white shirt, black jeans, leather slip on shoes and a cool blazer. Keep up with your look and you will always get looks.
I don't let stress fester:
Don't allow things to get to you, fix them or let them go, either way. It is not good to be stressed particularly for your aging process. If there is something you can do to change things do it but be aware that there will be things you just need to dump, say no to or get out of your life. Stress will not just be visible on your face and body it will take a toll on you emotionally. Let that stuff go!
I believe that we can be beautiful at any age:
Feeling beautiful at any age is just about knowing that in some ways you are as beautiful as anyone else. You don't have to be a size 2 and ready to drop dead to be beautiful. That is just an illusion of beauty that the magazines sell as beautiful. Beauty is what you decide is attractive for you as long as you hold your head up high and own it.
I moisturize:
Moisturizing is important to keep our skin from drying up and looking raggedy. I admit that I have been using "Oil of Olay" for many years. It's been good for me. Find a product that you believe has the ingredients to keep your skin moisturizer. Even adding natural fragrant oils to olive oil will do the trick. Drink a lot of water as this will keep your skin lively and your body healthy.
I live in beauty:
Live in a place that is beautiful. You don't have to be rich to live in a wonderful, magical environment. The key to living well is a balance of beauty, comfort, organization and artifacts that express who you are surrounding you. It is not difficult to live well whether you live in a studio or a four bedroom house. The trick is to make it a sacred, loving, beautiful space where you like to be. Living in beauty helps us to live in joy which translates to looking healthy and beautiful.
I stay active:
Don't stop moving. Stay active. Enough said.
We must remember that age is something we are but does not have to be something we feel. We are only as old as we feel. Our life is ours and we decide how to live it.
