Becoming Happier

Sorry but no one has the complete list of things that will make us happier, not even me.  Although I admit that I don't have all the answers, I do know that there are some key ways to make your life a happy one.  I can also be honest and say that I have been through some truly trying situations that would be cause for deep sadness or anger, yet I have gotten through it with a little happiness searching and by finding my own personal reason to be happy.  Some of you have been through some very difficult times but you like me must not allow those things to define you nor follow you all your life.  Here are some ways to get your mojo back:

Create an environment that is happier:
The very first thing you should do this day is to look at your home environment and determine if it is a happy one.  If you believe that it is not a joyful place to live in then it is time to work on it.  It may be a time when you decide to paint your home or make it more organized and beautiful.  A place where we live should be one that is comfortable, organized and pretty.  Getting up to a wonderful living space will lift any persons spirit.

Force yourself to do things outside the home:
Whether you feel stale or stagnant  without energy, do your best to get out of your house and doing something active even if it is just a short walk.  Getting outside will make us feel refreshed and more ready to enjoy life.  Getting out will make us feel less alone and more connected to what is around us daily, including and especially other magnificent human beings.

Take time to be silent And hold reverence daily:
If you take the time to be quiet and reverent with yourself each day it will inevitably bring your heart to a place of peace and then to a place of joy.  There is nothing more important to maintaining your life in the light than daily silence whereby you silence all the things that have or will cause conflict in  your life and get in the way of your happiness.  When we take the time to be silent we honor our human needs and our human flaws all at once.  The only thing between us and our joy is daily self-loving silence.

Opt out of negative energy and negative people:
Whatever is in your life or whoever is in your life that have negative effects or reactions for you should be the people or things you leave behind you.  There is no need to talk about it or ask permission from anyone but to do this in honor of your own happiness.  We often times keep people and things that are not in our highest good and when we do we soon become weary and sad, even angry.  Letting go of the habits and people who you are addicted to will help you to get your joy back.

Have a mantra or affirmation ready:
All of us should have a mantra or affirmation that we repeat.  Mine is: "My joy cannot be altered because the source of my joy is God".  I change my affirmation or mantra when I feel a need to but I keep them short and easy to recall and recite at any moment when I need to reinforce that my joy is my own.  Your mantra can be simple like: "This is not God's will for me" or "I am always guided to my highest vibration, light and joy".  Having a mantra ready will help you to stay focused on your joy and negating any negative thoughts that are not about being happy.

These are some very easy ways to stay in your light and joy.  Think about what things in your life bring you down and decide that this will be no more.  Stay in a place of positive energy and keep the negative at bay and far from your energy field.  Never allow others opinions to bother you by not taking them personally and understanding that they do not define you and that if they are positive and loving then they are worthy but if not they should be released with love in your heart and compassion for their needs.  To hope that we will someday wake up and be happy is simply stupid and will never happen.  We must seek it and be purposeful about finding our joy each day and take the time to become reverent and respectful of ourselves.  Happiness is all about our own intention to be happy and the willingness to do the daily work or love.
