Four Ways To A Happier Life
I have found that throughout my life there have been some times when being happy is harder some days than others. As part of my studies at USM in Spiritual Psychology I've learned some techniques to help others find their happiness and get my own joy as well. Here are some ways you too can get that joy you deserve back:
1. Fake it until it is true:
We have all heard the term "fake it till you make it". Well quests what, there is some truth to this idea of smiling and being cheerful in the moment with every person you come into contact with and everywhere you are. The unconscious mind eventually believes that you are happy and will many times go to that happy place where your imagination is taking it. Faking it until you make it is just a start but if you think about it, it's a great start.
2. Move it out:
If you are feeling down do something as soon as possible that requires movement like going to the gym to do a 30 minute workout. No matter how you feel a good workout can change your energy simply due to the mere fact that you are moving that feeling. Along with sweat you are releasing tension and sadness as you workout. As an alternative take a brisk walk or dance for a while. Any kind of movement is apt to move the blues out of you and just the feeling of accomplishment helps to send a positive message to your brain. If you are feeling like you cannot move, do all that you can to force yourself to do this.
3. Write about the feeling:
Sit down and write about how you are feeling. Once you have it all on paper ask your "inner guide" to give you some encouraging and motivating assurance. Pretend that you are another person responding to the pain or upsetting thoughts. Become that person you are looking for that is not there at the moment and allow your inner self to be of mentoring and apply love to you. Once you have completed this self-healing work (about 20 minutes or so) destroy it and go for a brisk walk or do something outside the home.
4. Believe you will transform soon:
When we are feeling down the very first thing we must say to ourselves is that this too shall pass and that it will not last. In a few hours we will feel better as it usually happens this way. We must believe that we can transform these negative feelings into a more positive and productive thought pattern. By talking ourselves through it in the moment we are acknowledging that we will get through this and transform into the person we are meant to be by divine right. Remembering that we have been happy helps us to get back to that happy feeling. All that is required is that we believe it.
There are many ways to get your happiness on and these four are only some of the ways to have a happier life. No one can take your joy from you and this is the very first thing you must believe and know. Your joy is not dependent on anyone but you and you cannot make anyone responsible for stealing your happiness. Take responsibility for your own happiness and you will soon see that it is possible to be in your joyful place more often.
