About Trusting

"When you trust faith supports you.  When you trust there is no doubting, or hoping or wondering.  Trust is in your mind and in your heart, which are the places we connect to God. "

" doubt is the kryptonite to trust.  When you trust faith is a natural outcome.  In fact, I believe when you really trust yourself to trust God, you don't need faith"

From the book: "Trust' by Iyanla Vanzant

There is something to be said about Ms. Vanzant's words about trust.  Often times we are asked to have faith but rarely are we asked to trust in God, in others or in ourselves.  We go to church where they say things like: "have faith as in a grain of mustard seed", in other words just a tiny bit of faith is all we need when in fact what we must do is simply to trust in the universe, in God and in ourselves.  If I were to do it all over again I would say to my daughters: "trust in your instincts, in human kind and in God.  Trust that you have the answer inside of you and that God puts it there.  Trust that you will have abundance in your life and that you co-create everything with God and Goddess.

Trust is different from faith in that when you are asked or ask yourself to trust it is about empowering yourself and more of a knowing that this or that is what will flow into your life.  Trust is about believing from the get that yes this is something that can be and that miracles happen all the time.  I would today say to my children, "trust me" because I trust in myself and the pressure of all my mistakes would dissipate, because trust is not out there far away nor does it require that I sit and hope this will be but rather that it is what it is to be already.

Faith has a place in our lives at various in times in our life.  Faith asks us to turn it over and wait but trust asks us to participate and engage every aspect of what it is to trust.  Trusting God means to know that God will come through and that you don't need to worry.  Trust in yourself asks that you be aware that you have some tools and that you can and do collaborate with Spirit so that the outcome is what is manifested because you trust in the outcome and that you believe.  Trust in others means that there are those who love you and that you don't need to manipulate anyone for any reason to do what they will do on their own if you simply trust.  Trust asks you to love you, God and others.

It is with intention that I live today.  I shared this with my sister in law today.  I am more peaceful and centered now than ever that I have lived alone in Pingree Grove for over two years now.  I have trust in myself and my boundaries with everyone in my life.  I have learned to trust that I know what is good for me and have tuned out the TV and the Internet and focused on enjoying every moment at every turn trusting that I am going to be whole at 62 and that what I have in my life is all a blessing.  Trusting that I am the Creators miracle I live such a happy life that I yearn to live even more secluded with a horse and a lamb inside a little barn by my home.  My grand lesson has been that trusting myself is key to living a life that is full without any manipulation or any other love than what is inside of me.
