Who Is Buddha?
Tina Turner experienced a horrific amount of abuse at the hands of her former husband Ike who not only insulted her repeatedly he beat her up as well. After many years of abuse Tina Turner started to chant and she attributes her practise to giving her the strength to leave, asking only to keep her name, something that Ike Turner wanted to take from her, sighting that he gave her the name and that he did not want her to keep it. Whatever his motivation for his behavior was does not matter because in the end Tina Turner was incredibly successful and went on to make herself a household name. Chanting, in my view is much like praying. What happens over time is that we become enlightened and like the Buddha. When we become enlightened we find our buddhabood. The more that we believe the more healed we become and the more peace we experience.
So who is the Buddha? We are. We are the Buddha when we find that balance in our life and turn into the enlightened one. That is the Buddha and all we need to know. For some it is becoming a part of our own higher self. For others it is finding that place of joy where we can live without regret and own every moment, where life challenges us to be a part of something sacred, our incredible life. When we are in our light we are at the very highest spiritual place we can be, a place where no matter what happens to us we can overcome it with more ease and more grace about us. We are the Buddha when we learn to live in the light space more often than not and we do not hold on to the past hurt that weigh us down. We become forgiving at the same time as we grow into what is for us buddhabood.
In the past people who were Buddhist prayed to the Buddha. It was after many years that it was established that there is no God like figure to pray to but that each of us is the Buddha now. Although it may be different for people who believe in God, there are many who believe that God lives in them and that they are a part of him or her. No longer do worshippers of God believe that this is some far away figure. Now God is believed to be right there next to us all the time and not this aloft figure that is only accessed if we live a righteous life. The Buddha is no longer a figurehead like a king but now an energy that lives inside of us once we learn to live with loving intention.
Whether you believe in Buddha, God, Goddess, Angels or Spirit is truly not what matters. What matters is that we understand that love is the answer and that inner peace and light is what will make this world a better place. When each of us decides to live and act with kind intention then we have evolved into that place where each and every believer feels the very highest and purest of happiness. It is not just that we act nice but that we behave unto others in a way that honors them and honors us. That is living in your buddhabood and that is who Buddha is.

2. Are you able to connect with others around you, no matter who, in a loving and compassionate manner?
3. Are you busy judging yourself and others? Why?
4. Do you have a spiritual practice, a self-loving daily practice?
5. What do you think you need to do to find your inner Buddha?
Once you have answered these questions devise a plan that will honor your journey into living at a higher vibration. Write those actions down and be willing to walk the walk that will bring you more light.
