Having a Plan

There is much to be said about having a plan.  I call it an action plan because there must be action steps in your plan and goals that are measurable.  The other important factor is that your plan include your spiritual, physical, emotional, creative and financial steps.  Every aspect of your life is important when devising a plan.  Making a commitment or two in each category is a good start to getting what you want in your life and achieving your goals.  So with all that said let's begin an action plan from the start to the finish line.

A: State an overall goal that you want to achieve.
B: State the duration of your plan: how long it will take to do the things you state you are going to do.
C: Make up an affirmation or statement that affirms what you want to achieve.  Start with the  words "I am"
D: State one or two commitments that you intend to make in each aspect of your life and relate each one to your plan of action and the results.
E: When stating your commitments or goals make each one measurable and set deadlines (specific dates and times)

Here is a sample of an Action Plan

A: I am going to open a retail business by the end of this year: December 2015.  I am going to meet my commitments by doing the work on a consistent basis and sticking to my plan.  I am going to be courageous about my plan and execute it without fear or uncertainty.

B: The duration of my Plan: April 2015-December 2015

C: I am a savvy business owner who provides the services and merchandise people are looking for.  I am a smart individual who is capable of opening a great and successful business of my own.

D:  These are my commitments in each area of my life:
Spiritual:

I chant every day for a minimum of 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes prior to bedtime and focus it on the success of my business.

I will read from a spiritual or self-help text daily in service to honoring my spirit every day for a minimum of 20 minutes.

Emotional:

I will write  in my journal a minimum of 3 days a week for a minimum of 25 minutes.

I will get counseling for a minimum of once a week for an hour.

Physical:

I will workout three days a week for a minimum of 30 minutes each session.

I will do one thing associated to opening my business at least two days a week to include: attending meetings, making calls to contacts, finding a business partner, taking a business workshop, working with a business mentor...

I will research areas in which to open my business at least once a week for a minimum of 4 hours.

Creative:

I will make  accesssory items for my retail business at least once a week for a minimum of one hour.

I will shop at least one day a week for the merchandise for my store for at least 4 hours.

Summary:

The main focus and goal of my plan is to purchase all the things I need for my store before December 2015 and to have a location rented and ready to start my business in.

Now that you have an idea of what an Action Plan looks like try your hand at it.  Don't be afraid to think big and to go big.  As they say "go big or go home".
