Know it Alls
We all know people that think they know it all. There are so many people like this that it is a complete waste of time trying to figure them out or even to make them see how arrogant they seem when they behave as though they know everything when in fact no one does. Know it alls are people who were raised to think that everything that they said and did was perfect and were rarely if ever challenged. They are the kid whose parent cannot face the fact that their child could possibly not know the answer to question number 4 on the Math test or failed thier state exam the first time they took it. These are adults who were raised to think that they were the smartest and brightest when in fact they were average students and average thinkers.
Know it alls are also people who just cannot be wrong or cannot withstand the notion that they are wrong about anything. Again they come from parents who make them believe they can walk on water and that whatever comes out of their mouth is the "word of god" so to speak. Know it alls go about making statements about life that sound like facts but are merely made up roderick. They tend to go around making others wrong as often as possible because they believe that by making others wrong they are more right or superior to others. It is a way to make themselves feel good. As they are busily making others wrong they develop a false sense of importance.
Know it alls are usually rude. They will intervene in a conversation in order to share something about the topic that the people involved in the conversation were not even focused on. They inject their opinion because they cannot sit and listen to a conversation and not be the center of attention or be able to make someone else look wrong or badly. They want to make sure everyone knows that they are overseeing every opinion about every topic all the time. They have a need to be involved in a way that they perceive makes them look like they are experts.
A know it all friend or partner is a person who will wear you down over time. They will exhaust you with their opinions even when you don't ask them. They will comment on every little thing about every situation all the time just to hear themselves talk. Usually these know it alls are afraid to blend in and just be in the room without getting all the attention. Know is alls love attention and they don't care how they get it.
Far from the truth is the fact that know it alls actually know it all. We have to remember that because they can be very convincing and have had a lot of practice being convincing. Know it alls have invested a lot of time in appearing right. As the people on the other end of the static created by these know it all people we must either ignore it or kindly disagree with their constant opinions and evaluations of others. It is OK to let know it alls know that they don't know it all.
