How to Indentify Love

I have had my share of relationships, all types.  There was the four year one with the alcoholic, then the 4 year interaction with a man who never took me out and then a ten year one with a person who was boring, life dumb and unkept with a gorilla for a mother.  This is unfortunately how I found out what love truly means and how to identify it.  What I knew from another ten year relationship was that it was not me but the person I picked and his nosey, rude, tasteless, racist and homophobic family.  As if that were not enough the person who I will loosely define as the X did not and could not control the incredibly stupid behavior.  What we all learn from these harmful people is that this is not a sample of love.  Although I wish it had not all happened the lesson is now ingrained in my mind forever.

So what are the clues that tell us this is real love?

Here are some tips:

1. A person who loves or even respects you will defend you against his or her family's poor behavior.  At the very least they will admit it to be bad behavior.
2. A person who loves you will do some of the things you like to do just to be cooperative and collaborative.
3. A person who loves you is compassionate and understanding even at times when you are irrational.
4. A person who loves you shows it by gifting you in many different ways.
5. A person who really loves you is not competitive with you but rather collaborative.
6. A person who loves you is courageous when you need them to be by your side.
7. A person who loves you usually makes you first.
8. A person who cares for you and loves you respects you everywhere, every time no matter what.
9. A person who loves you does not ask for what they are not willing to give.
10. A person who loves you is willing to take on some responsibility for the relationship and does not constantly displace his poor actions or lack of attentiveness.

It is easier when we know these simple tips.

Your Skirt Is Over Your Head

I am uncertain as to how many of my readers know what I mean about putting your skirt over your head.  All I know is that my sister once said it and I think I heard it in a movie once.  I do know that in the movie "Mermaids" Cher who played the mom had some great lines about being a woman and just having a good time with life.  In one of those what should be famous lines Cher's daughter played by Winnona Ryder says: "Don't you think yoiiu are too old for that dress?"to which Cher responds with: "Don't be silly Charlotte, a woman is never too old".  In another part there is a stunning young man waiting on their porch to welcome them to the country area where they moved and upon setting eyes on him Winnona Ryder who is Charlotte is mezmerized by him.  Cher suddenly turns around and says: "too bad your hell bent on becoming a nun".  To say that Cher truly pulls the dress over her head is really minimizing her role in this movie that I wo...

Visualize It, Manifest It.
