The Real Housewives of...

On occasion I do something naughty like watch "The Real Housewives of..."  Like everyone else I understand that these reality shows including like "The Bachelor" are not "real".  As much as it gets pushed on us that reality shows are really real we know that much of what we see is staged for our enjoyment: Conflict and Crazy are what sells.

Now that we are clear around the real in reality we must know that our own life would not be a good subject to air on TV.  It is only those who can afford to be on TV will likely be on TV and let's be real honest, people are interested in people who have money, live well, seem sexy and can be dramatic because they have an attorney on retainer.

I won't ever forget the episode of one of the housewife shows when a woman turned over the table at a banquet event, I believe some ones wedding.  I knew then that it was either staged or the person who turned the table over and cussed her head off was no emotionally well.  Even then one would think that they would get the help they need with the money they have.

Reality shows with regular people have almost faded out because most of the time we don't yearn for this kind of show any more.  We want to see people with money crash and we want to believe that we can find love on a show.  It has to be hard to believe or understand.  It has to be outrageous.

Today I lived my own life and that life is as real as it gets.  Nothing happened that others may like to see on a reality show even though some people who love me might think so.  I played with Legos with my granddaughter.  I stayed up half the night because my granddaughter wanted so sleep in my king size bed and she kept moving around.  She is more use to sleeping with her parents.  I also played house with her and assisted her in.making a make shirt tent from covers.  She jumped and danced while I watched and I took pictures of my daughter and both the kids and posted them on FB. My life is pretty normal that way and although it is real it is not unreal and that is what people want to see.

Living our life is not about it being so exciting and made for TV.  Living life is a simple practice of being who we are and that being great enough.
