See The Light In Everyone
I will be the first to admit that seeing the light in some people is difficult. It is especially hard when people behave in unkind ways. Yet seeing the light in every person is a spiritual way to live a life that is peaceful and happy. When we are suspicious of others and believe that they will show their worse to us it only manifests more of that part of others that is dark and that we will own. It only serves to make us unhappy and distrustful.
I have decided to see the light in everyone whether or not they are a friend or a close relative. I have had to remind myself that love costs nothing and that giving it without reservations is a wonderful thing. I have experienced that when I am in a loving place towards everyone around me that I am much more happy. After a are all pretty much the same and equally deserving of love. Besides if I want to be loved then I should be the first to be the person who loves.
Loving everyone is an intention. Either way we decided if this is a place from where we want to operate. Do we want to operate from a place of love or from hate and resentment? When we operate from hate what is the point and what do we get from that? Nothing. Hate promotes more discord in the world and hate just festers into a a huge ball of hatred and energy that is so harmful to all of us. When we hate it simply blocks all that is good from coming to us.
Seeing the light in every person is like seeing the light in every baby. We don't have any trouble seeing how much of a miracle a child is yet we struggle with loving every person who is a grown up. If we look at every man and woman as a child who came out of a womb and as a miracle then we will be able to be in harmony with what is destined and what is aligned with love. Every single person we know has a little person inside of them who longs to be loved and who may be injured and in need of approval. Every one of us comes from the same source. When see this then and only then can we see the light in others.
You don't have to love everyone. You can select the people you think deserve love yet what I want to express is that everyone is worthy of love and compassion. The person in jail, the struggling mom who is selling her body, the man who is homeless, the young man in jail for selling drugs and the teacher who made the mistake of swearing in class. No matter who you are you deserve love. God does not distinguish between us and the man who killed another man out of rage. God believes we are all worth the effort, his loving effort. If we believe then we know that it is our task to make sure that the elderly are taken care of and that the people who make mistakes are forgiven. This is seeing the light in everyone.
Today there was a reverend that made a video and posted it about transgender people using the bathroom of the sex they identify with at Target. He insinuated that transgender people will molest children in the bathrooms referring to them as pedifiles. I was floored and thought to myself. This is a man who is suppose to be promoting love and peace and instead is promoting hatred and fear. Why? My only answer is that he cannot see the light in everyone. I can only wish he will someday.
