How To Cease the Day!

Let's be honest, some days are difficult to even jump start.  These are days when we are feeling slow or down at the very moment when we awake.  Sometimes we don't know why but we feel indifferent and not sure where we are or how we are truly feeling.  Some days we stay in bed a lot longer than we should because we simply cannot face the day.  How can we cease the day and what are some practical ways to face it with an empowerment in our mind and heart?

Here are some tips:

1. Start your day in silence by taking a few minutes of reverence.  Play some soft music, close your eyes, sit in a comfortable spot, take a few very deep breaths, place your palms on your legs facing up and feel yourself surrendering to life.  Do this for a minimum of ten minutes and do it every morning.

2. Exercise by doing something physical each day even if it is just taking a long walk.  Exercise will automatically life your energy and in turn lift the emotional weight off of your mind.  A daily routine will become common place once you begin make a habit of it.  It is powerful and life changing.

3. Dance!  Put on some upbeat music and dance alone in your living room, bedroom or hallway.  Move every part of your body.  Yes, it is true that there are people help others by doing what is called dance therapy.  We know that moving all the parts of our body lifts our spirit.  I like to be silly when I dance and pretend I know how to "twerk".  Admittedly it takes me back to my childhood and when I play kids' music for my grandchild I love to dance to it.

4. Write about how you want your day to unfold.  The moment you get up, sit down and write the details of your day.  Be very specific about what you will do that will make you feel happy and whole.  Write it as if everything you desire will happen and you simply know it.  Write it with confidence and end it with "this and more for my highest good".

5. Write a mantra for the day and carry it around all day long.  Read your affirmative statement throughout the day.  Read it at least ten to fifteen times during the course of the day.  Read it out loud with emphasis and conviction.  I like this one: "I am living my life fully and with joy in my heart".

Now stand up straight and cease the day! Make it the best day you have ever had!
