Take What You Have Now
Take what you have now is just another way of asking us to accept this moment, this situation and the cards that you have been dealt for today. It is saying that it is not always the best idea to force things or to try to change anything. Maybe today you got up feeling fear around your finances because you have not been able to get a job or you are angry because of some act on the part of another person. Deciding whether to carry this all day is one thing and the other is allowing this day to flow as it may. Having the feelings is OK but holding on to them all day long is not. Taking one day at a time as they say in the AA twelve step program can be great advise for many of us who are in a constant place of control and of wanting to resolve things now. There is a time when we can simply sit back and accept the now, what we have today and the cards we have in our hand. Life is not always about solving everything right away so give yourself some space to relax around whatever is going on in your life and do something other than worrying, plotting or scheming.
Pacing your actions around the things that need action is a useful way to do things with an air of fluidity. Not trying to do things all at once or resolve an issue right now is giving ourselves permission to take it one step at a time, doing things when necessary and standing back when needed. There are after all some things in life we may not have control of right away or that can wait a little while until we regroup emotionally and physically. Not everything has to be urgent and done at a high speed and as we know when we do things in a rush it can be disastrous. We can do things with what I refer to as ease and grace by simply waiting for the right moment and doing it in due time.
When we attempt to do things ASAP and in a rush we can end up making mistakes and running into walls we'd not planned on. The timing is wrong and the universe is trying to tell us that. It is when we speed in our car to arrive on time and we either get stopped by the police, get a ticket for speeding or get in an accident that we are not only still late, we made it so that we are very late. Our anxiousness resulted in a situation where all our rushing set us back even more. But when we flow we take our time and realize that we will get there safely if we just take it a little slower. Attempts at doing everything so quickly and all at once frustrates us and ties our mind up in knots. Take one thing at a time, as much as you feel you can do with ease and proceed to do just that one thing. Don't be in a rush to do it but rather think it through. Most of all decide if this is something that must be done now or if what you need is a break in the mental strain you are creating.
Take what you have now means to be in gratitude for what you have. Accept this time now as a time to enjoy and to savor. Think about what it is that you are grateful for in the now. Live in this very moment as Eckhart Tolle would suggest in "The Power of Now". Live your life fully in this moment and love your surroundings and the people in your immediate family. Smell the flowers and chill for a little while before taking on another issue in your life. Know that there will be issues in your life and that you don't have to solve them right away. Plant the thought in your mind that there is a time for everything in your life and that perhaps this very moment is not the time to work and plan but rather a time to plan your life to work in a state of balance.
