Change Your Body. Image

First things first.  The average woman in the US is a size 14 and might I add that some of those women are absolutely gorgeous.  It is really not about your size but rather about how you feel about your body.  Admittely it is hard to love your body when we are being bombarded with images of women that are so very far from the reality.  In fact it has become an unhealthy and rather scary depiction of a woman, some almost look like a doll and some have actually had surgery to look like Barbie.  There is even a real life Ken running around who was recently focused on in a documentary about plastic surgery.  Almost ever part of his body was manufactured and surgically created.  Never mind photo shop and all the cuts and pastes are done to present a woman in the best light possible and so that she looks incredible.  Never mind that a lot of models are barely 21 made to look like they are 30.  Although makeup is a wonderful thing for some, a lot of...

Self Loving Is Overated 2

Love is when you love someone even if it's not convenient.  After seeing the "The Late Quartet" I witnessed for myself the love of four people who happened to be in a string quaret together.  They, I would imagine could not help but to go deeply in love with one another.  Something about that kind of comrad like relationship is so beautiful and touching.  Something we cannot all understand nor would we expeirence if it were not for the instrument we love and the people who love them with us. How we get outide of ourselves to play in a group is the way that we might best love each other, all of us.  This self loving stuff becomes secondary in a way when one asks of someone to harmonize with them musically.  Would it not be so fine if that is the way we held relationship as if we were a quartet.  As if we were an imporant part of something bigger?  We would get our heads out of our asses and actually have a reationship, a real one where there were e...

See The Light In Everyone

I will be the first to admit that seeing the light in some people is difficult.  It is especially hard when people behave in unkind ways.  Yet seeing the light in every person is a spiritual way to live a life that is peaceful and happy.  When we are suspicious of others and believe that they will show their worse to us it only manifests more of that part of others that is dark and that we will own.  It only serves to make us unhappy and distrustful. I have decided to see the light in everyone whether or not they are a friend or a close relative.  I have had to remind myself that love costs nothing and that giving it without reservations is a wonderful thing.  I have experienced that when I am in a loving place towards everyone around me that I am much more happy.  After a are all pretty much the same and equally deserving of love.  Besides if I want to be loved then I should be the first to be the person who loves.
