10 Ways to Happiness Alone

6. Pray

I am sure that there are some of you out there that don't believe in prayer and maybe don't believe in God.  You actually don't have to believe in God to pray.  You do have to believe in a powerful source or a higher being.  Pray for what you need and be thankful at the same time.  Thank your source for what you have in your life no matter how small or seemingly insignificant. Ask not so much for exactly what you want but whatever is in your highest good.  State it in a way that says you are open to source deciding what is best for you because you don't know.  Happiness comes from knowing that you are not alone and asking source to help you to see light in everything.  By praying you access the joy that is always available to you through your inner source.  That source can be God or Goddess or Angels or whatever you believe in, but you must believe in something in order for prayer to work.  In Miracle prayer we learn to ask for specifically what we want in a nine step prayer.  Then we learn to release it and allow spirit to work the magical suff of spirit.  We are never alone and we are always in our joy if we like to be.

7.  Do Volunteer Work:

Joy comes from giving and when you volunteer it is the very best kind of giving.  Your time is valuable so spend it by tithing your talent and service to others.  There is nothing more comforting to the heart.

8.  Exercise and Move:

Keep your body moving and you will find that this alone lifts your spirits.  Walk, run, cycle or lift weights.  Any form of exercise will bring you into a much more happy space.  Even when you don't want to do it, do it anyway.  Force yourself to get outside and take a fast walk or a bike ride.  Put on some music and jump rope for a few minutes.  Take the time to move your body's energy.  As soon as you do that you will feel more alive and less stiff and sad.  Get on that treadmill you have hiding under your bed.  Throw on that yoga video from last year that you did not open up.  Let your body to the talking and free it up.  Smile while you are exercising for it is a grand gift you give yourself indeed.

9. Create Something with Your Hands:

A great way to feel better about yourself is to make something with your hands that you can see and feel and touch.  It could even be something that you give someone as a gift.  I make earrings all the time from crystals and other beads.  I enjoy giving my women friends and family earrings I made as  gift.  It helps me to get my creative juices going and I feel happier when I think about who beautiful someone is going to look with those creations on their ears.  My sister wears her red Buhhda head earrings all the time.  They are truly her favorites and each time I see her with them on I feel happy.  Happiness comes from creating and giving.  Create something you like and give it away.  Believe me it feels good.

10. Join a Group

There are groups for almost everything.  Support groups for men, people who have cancer, people who are divorcing, those of us who are gay and those of us who are not.  Joining a support group where you attend a weekly meeting will help your joy meter by having people in your life who know how you feel and are going through something similar.  Start your own support group if you cannot find one suited for you.  By joining a group you become a part of a community and this alone takes the edge off when you are feeling like you need support and a laugh.  Just because you are alone it does not mean you cannot be a part of something special and just because your alone does not mean you must be lonely;
